For many mothers to remove our baby’s pacifier is a
difficult struggle because without it our babies they can’t sleep very well and
they may cry or woke up in the middle of the night for it. That’s why I want to
share my story with you on how I did it. At the beginning I started to
frustrated myself because people they always want to give their opinions or
they judge you in certain ways but I always try to ignore them because at the
end I am the one who knows how I struggle with my daughters.
I didn’t accomplish it at the beginning; it will always take
their time to know that they don’t have the pacifier with them anymore. I get
rid of it this year, my daughter is two years old and the first attempt was to
only gave her the pacifier when she went to sleep, it could be during nap time
or her regular sleeping hours but sometimes she missed it and started to cry.
After many attempts, one morning she woke up and I noticed
she was having a mouth sore, I started gave her medication and I decided to
tell her that having the pacifier was a big problem for her mouth that there is
an age that she needs to say goodbye to it because she was growing up into a
big girl. Without any problem she understood the message I told her and since
then she didn’t want it anymore, she even didn’t cry and now she sleeps very
well without.
Mommies don’t frustrate yourself you will know the perfect
time to remove your baby’s pacifier, be patient with them and with you.
